Cool and Hot
Forgive my lack of originality for titling this post describing my past week...^_^
So, it has been slightly more than a week since i came back from singapore and perhaps i'm still adjusting to the change in lifestyle..haha! Very significantly, there's no more mummy's cooking T-T
and yea, i confessed that i did cry twice (without my parents knowing..^_^) before the day i left..hahaha! shhhhh!!!!
still trying to get into the groove of working again...also a little discouraged cause one of my frens told me that he was quitting phd on the day i arrived back in Melb! gosh...didnt see that coming....but other than that, i think i'm doing quite ok for my work...currently working on my phd confirmation which i'm due to present on the 5th March. I have to write a report which has to include what was, what is and what will be...obviously...it is the "what will be" which is difficult to write cause it has yet to happen....AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
on top of that, i need to read lots of journal articles to be able to write a review of the relevant literature related to my phd....read 3 articles on thurs and fri..an amazing achievement..ahahahahaha!
anywayz, summer last week has been cool and hot....shall not talk about the cool...it's just cool..it was the hot that was testing...
it hit 46 degrees yesterday, well, at least that was what i heard...^_^ so here's what i did yesterday
(i) Had a meeting in AIR CONDITIONED rooms from 9am to 3pm
(ii) Went to Chew's AIR CONDITIONED house for chilling out
(iii) Went to Glen for movie with michael, rachel, shaun and derek at 4pm till about 610pm. Cinema was crowded with people like us trying to avoid the peak of the heat in the air conditioned theatres =)
And when i came out of the movie at 610...it was back to cool!!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!! the temperature had dropped to the mid 20s..it was such a cool relief....but i'm blessed to have been out of the hot scorching weather for most of the times yesterday. I think i was only exposed to the heat for about an hour in total..and during those times, it was really unbearable. the wind was hot, skin was hurting and breathing can sometimes be difficult too....
so what did the news say? well..it was the worst day in Victoria history...and 65 people have been confirmed dead from yesterday's bush fire...even the state premier, john brumby broke down during a press conference....yea..things are really grim...
