Double Standards
Perhaps one thing that I really cannot tolerate in my life is hypocrisy and people practising double standards. Look at the execution of Saddam Hussein...
It's pretty amazing that certain super-power countries that have always made an international outcry about execution could actually remain so quiet about Saddam's execution. I remember Australia putting pressure on the Singapore government when one of its citizens was sentenced to death for drug trafficking. I remember another super-power outwardly proclaiming its stance against the death penalty.
Where were these voices on the 30th Dec? One newspaper wrote, a leader of a super-power country was sleeping soundly during Saddam's execution and after having been briefed about his execution.
This is the kind of world we live in. See it!
